Providing areas for entertaining, relaxation and play for a young family, the intent was to create separate zones that still felt connected. We used a terraced design to achieve this, with the pool acting as the bridge between them. Careful planning was needed to accommodate the garden around the heritage house, utilising existing bricks from the site to pave the courtyard and build the retaining wall. Olives, rosemary and jasmine frame the courtyard, whilst evergreen hydrangeas, agapanthus, tuckaroo, buxus and a sculptural Brugmansia accentuate the Mediterranean feel.
